Greetings from Beihang University!
Please accept my heart-felt and sincerest wish for the success of the 125th Anniversary of National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU) scheduled on May 11th, 2021.
Although the outbreak of the pandemic has temporarily prevented our meeting, our mutual strengths in science and technology education and research, combined with the strong ties
formed over the years, will continue to boost our comprehensive cooperation. The 125th Anniversary offers a unique opportunity to reflect upon the history of TPU, which is committed to ensuring excellence in academic affairs, scientific research and international collaboration with its global partners such as Beihang. Over the years, Beihang has been able to welcome some of the most talented faculty and students from TPU for research and studies on our campus. TPU also continues to provide Beihang professors and students with invaluable visiting and learning experiences leading to outstanding academic achievements.
| wish TPU ever greater success in its journey ahead. It is my sincere hope and belief that TPU and Beihang will further develop our partnership and fruitful cooperation by creating more
opportunities for academic exchanges between students and faculty. As confirmed by this COVID-19 pandemic, only through solidarity and collaboration can we address effectively the challenges facing our world.

Dear Dr. Andrey Yakovlev,
It has been an honour to collaborate with Tomsk Polytechnic University, one of the oldest technical universities and one of the leading institutions in the field of Engineering and Technology in Russia and around the globe.
Our cooperation dates back to 2006 when we received the first three students from TPU for internships with our dual partner companies. We soon increased the number of students by exchanging students for study abroad semesters and internships in both countries and by expanding the range of joint activities. We ran successful summer schools both, in Heidenheim and in Tomsk, thus offering more students the opportunity to visit the other country, to get to know the people and to learn more about our respective cultures. Numerous faculty members taught as guest professors at TPU and vice versa, thereby strengthening the academic ties between TPU and DHBW Heidenheim.
I would like to congratulate TPU on the 125th anniversary celebration. I look forward to a continued successful and trustful cooperation with TPU and wish you all the best for the future!

For over 2 decades, for over than half of my life, I have been connected with TPU. All this time is filled with the most positive emotions and memories! With every passing year, exactly here, my head has been getting clearer, my competences have been multiplying, the number of the teachers has been growing as you study not only from your colleagues being outstanding scientists, God-given teachers, natural-born leaders, but also from your students. For me, TPU is a real university of life with interesting people becoming friends and even with a family giving energy, knowledge and experience. It is a point of growth and formation of real professionals!
Being a school student and then a student at TPU, I was pitiful to teachers and professors working almost a day and night. I thought that I would never be a teacher for sure. However, everything changed after receiving a diploma. I was assigned to the Department of Chemical Technology of Rare, Scattered and Radioactive Elements. I helped the head with the department work, I wanted to work for some time and then to work for myself as at that time I simultaneously ran business, planned to develop and expand it. After 4 months of my work, there was an ISIF-2006 international conference, where I took part. I saw many smart and interesting people at the same time, who were international scientists. I saw how they gave reports, how they communicated in English and my heart leapt with joy “I want the same”. My supervisors immediately offered me to apply for a master’s degree course and defined my research topic. For over 15 years, I have been engaged in an academic environment. I appreciate all my students, I perfectly understand their concerns and worries as I am a lifelong student, permanently continue studying. I love my job, my beloved university for giving me an opportunity to find and realize myself! From the bottom of my heart, I am expressing my greetings to all TPU community on the anniversary of our alma mater. May all our (and its too!) bravest plans and goals come true!
